The people of Singapore are very patriotic, very diverse, and very fun-loving. Throughout the nation, people are proud of their nationality and heritage. This is exemplified by the National Day celebrations, which color the city red and white. Singapore is also a nation with many ethnic backgrounds; with people descended from Chinese, Indians, Malaysians, Peranakans, Eurasians, and more, this little spot is a huge melting pot of culture. Singapore is also the most religiously diverse nation in the world, having a mix of Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, Taoism, non-religious people, and smaller groups. Many languages are spoken in the country as well. In fact, Singapore has four official languages: English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil. Almost all Singaporeans speak English as their first language and most can speak at least two or more languages. Overall, Singapore's population totals at about 5.6 million proud, successful individuals.
