Amazing events and festivals happening in 2018

Singapore Art Week - January

Singapore Art Week (SAW) is a vastly widespread event that transforms the entire country into a beautiful showcase of contemporary Southeast Asian art. This festival is jam-packed with exhibitions, walking tours, talks, and art fairs. Through Singapore's many precincts, galleries, and museums, you can experience the work of new, up-and-coming artists as well as more recognized artists who have established a definite impact on the community. But this event isn't limited to galleries -- cultural institutions and parks become wonderful works of art; throughout Singapore, you will find live performances, immersive installations, interactive multimedia displays, and outdoor sculptures and murals.

Chingay Parade - February

Occurring on Lunar New Year, the Chingay Parade celebration is the largest street performance and float parade in all of Asia. This parade will captivate and enthrall you with its magnificent, shining floats, its exciting dragon dances, and its towering stilt walkers. The ceremony truly captures Singapore's multicultural nature, bringing together Chinese, Malays, Indians, and Eurasians. The Chingay Parade is not only one of the most breathtaking events of the year, but serves as a reminder that Singapore is one united nation, regardless of age, race, language, or creed.

National Day Parade - August

To celebrate Singapore's independence, the National Day Parade (NDP) is an extravagant event that truly encapsulates the powerful community and togetherness that connects everyone throughout Singapore. The National Day Parade will present stunning military parades, acts of song and dance that draw upon the cultural diversity in Singapore, and sensational aerial performances. All of this concludes with a spectacular finale -- an astonishing fireworks display as Singapore's skyline is lit up on the Marina Bay waterfront.

Singapore Food Festival - July

The Singapore Food Festival (SFF) is a massive event lasting over two weeks and taking place all across the island. The festival has a focus on traditional tastes, authentic flavors, modern cuisine, and art inspired by food. STREAT is the main event of SFF, showcasing delicious mod-Sin cuisine -- food with unique and modern twists on Singaporean cooking. With collaborations between internationally renowned chefs and countless ways to get involved with Singapore's traditional and modern foods, SFF is a staple event in the city.

Grand Prix Season Singapore - September
